Business Acumen Workshop In partnership with Cape Africa Platform and Seippel Gallery, Greatmore Studios will facilitate a business acumen workshop at the Cape offices, 8 Spin Street, for professionals and interns working in craft, the music industry, design, architecture, advertising, TV, film, radio, publishing and the visual arts. Spanning two full days, the workshop will run over the 23rd and 24th May 2008. Beate Baethke will facilitate the management workshop. This workshop will provide an overview of the basic business and economical concepts that creative professionals are typically confronted with. Participants will be taught how to complete delivery notes, invoice, and negotiate funding streams for projects as well as familiarise themselves with relevant tax issues. Places are limited –the business acumen course looks to draw between 40 -50 participants interested in developing their financial literacy. To cover the costs of refreshments for the workshops participants are asked to pay a cover charge of R25-00. |

Critical Writing Workshop In partnership with Seippel Gallery , Greatmore Studios offers a critical writing workshop which will run simultaneously over 23rd and 24th May 2008 in Cape Town. Nina Gruntkowski is a German freelance journalist specialising in socio- political issues, migration and cultural exchange between Europe and the African continent. She will facilitate the workshop that assist professional writers in the visual art industry to write innovatively about issues around contemporary art making as well as conduct interviews creatively . This workshop will accommodate 12 participants. cover charge of R25-00 |
